Adding Container Details

This option allows you to add the container details in the manifest using the SaudiEDI application.

 

To add the container details

1.      Open the Container Details page.

2.      Click Add, Container derails screen is displayed.

3.       Enter information in the Container Details fields.

 

Field Description
Shipping Agent Select the shipping agent from the drop down list.
Container Number Enter the container number.
Seal No. 1 Enter the seal number.

Type

Select the type from the drop down list (e.g., DRY, TANK, etc).
Seal No. 2 Enter the seal number.
Container Size Select any one of the options to enter the container size.
Seal No. 3 Enter the seal number.
Width Enter the width of the container in millimeter.
Height Enter the height of the container in millimeter.
Tare Weight Enter the tare weight in kilograms.
Goods Weight Enter the goods weight in kilograms.
Shipment Type Select the shipment type from the drop down list (e.g., FCL, LCL, PCL, etc).
Set Enter the temperature of the container.
High Enter the highest temperature of the container.
Low Enter the lowest temperature of the container.
UOM Select the degree of temperature of the container.
Marks and No. Enter the cargo marks and number.
Remarks Enter the remarks.

 

4.      Click Done button. The Container is added to the list.

Validation Rules for Container

1.      No two containers can share the same container number.

2.      Shipping agent number (PA license) must be a valid license number.

3.      Container type must be valid i.e. in the list defined in the manifest message
      specifications.

4.      Container size must be valid i.e. in the list defined in the manifest message
      specifications.

5.      Container number must be valid format. First 4 chars must be alphabets; followed
      by at least 4 numeric values.

6.      Shipment type must be valid i.e. in the list specified in the message specification.

7.      The following shipment type are not allowed:

·         4 – No Container

·         6 – Vehicle

·         9 – Direct discharge shipment

8.      If shipment type is ‘8 – Empty container’, goods weight must be equals to the
      tare weight.

9.      Storage location must be in the list specified in the message specification.

10.   Declared goods weight must be = to the ∑ (item gross weight in this container).

11.   If container type is not reefer , the following fields are not allowed:

·          Temperature Set

·          Transport Temperature Hi

·          Transport Temperature Lo

·          Temperature UOM

12.   If container type is reefer, the following fields are mandatory:

·         Temperature Set

·         Transport Temperature Hi

·         Transport Temperature Lo

·         Temperature UOM

13.   If container type is reefer, ‘Temperature UOM’ must be either ‘CEL’ or ‘FAH’.

14.   If shipment type is NOT Empty containers, Seal No 1 is mandatory.
