Typically for import manifest submission, Shipping Agents have to travel to the Customs offices at the respective ports, and manually enter the import manifest data at the Customs kiosk. In addition, they have to print the import manifest in hardcopies and physically deliver to other relevant government agencies (eg. Ports Authority) and business partners (eg. Ports Contractors).
With SANAM, Shipping Agents are able to create and submit the import manifest in the comfort of their offices. Once created, the Shipping Agents can electronically and simultaneously submit the import manifest to the relevant parties, such as the Customs Department, Ports Authorities and Ports Contractors, through SANAM without having to leave their offices.
Additionally, overseas Shipping Agents can key in manifest data into the SANAM system, which can be reused by the local partners for their submission to the relevant government agencies.
